How to know if I have Xenon or Halogen?

Ive heard so many mixed responses so I want to get a clear cut response. Anybody know?

u look at your headlights... if they look like flashlights, u have halogen. if they have projectors, then you have xenon.

Yellow equals = halogen

you have a 335i so you have xenons.

this is why im confused. i have the lights with a yellowish hue.

didnt think it would be thread worthy, thought if i asked how i can tell then people that stumble on this thread in the future can use it

Lol I remember when I first joined the site I didn't know the difference. It's actually really obvious.

I have halogens, and I would looooove to have xenons, but the complete conversion would cost me so much! Plus I wouldn't install them myself.

I find it hard to believe that someone cant tell the difference between halogens and xenons. They are completely different.

Stock halogens have a brownish yellow look where as xenon are pure white.

+1. these are standard on 335i, but its an option for upgrade on E90 LCI's.
