Stock Camber Adjustments? How Negative Can You Go?

Hey,

Just wondering if anyone knows... just but buying the car from factory... how much camber adjustment there is on the E92 Non-M's..

Just see if it will be necessary to buy Camber Plates and Rear Arms to fit new wheels on the way..

What are the specs of your new wheel setup?

Generally OE rear arms are fine but most people get camber plates up front since the OE front alignement does not allow for very much adjustment.

I read some place, you can go to -1 Degree. I will do it on my car next time I have the alignment checked since my rear tires (now having -2.5 degree camber) wore prematurely on the inside.

Do a search I am sure you find the thread (has tables and all).

I recommend before you have adjustments made to check with your BMW Dealer, or knowledgeable people / technicians that do this work all the time and have the right data at hand. I am sure reducing the camber will result in more even tire wear. Unless you plan to take your car to the track every weekend

I have got -2.7° in the rear with stock arms, no plates or anything

Edit:

The front can got -1.2° if you punch out the alignment knob on the top hat.

NTB told me they would do an alignment for $80 , but said they had to keep it within stock BMW requirements.

What are those requirements..?
Can they set the camber/toe on the rears to be less aggressive and more tire "Friendly" relative to inside wear?

Thanks for any input on the proper settings.

OE strut hats have a nipple that keep the shock from cambering in anymore then it normally needs to. If you remove that, you can add slightly more camber.

Going less aggressive will only add 2k to 3k extra miles on the same tire and will ruin the handling. If you want better wear, purchase tires with a higher wear number that are not as grippy. Also, the alignment system has the requirements in the software for most vehicals. You didn't buy your BMW for long lasting tires did you?
