I recently bought a black Calvin Klein leather jacket. I was very happy when I bought it because it is difficult for me to find a leather jacket that fits me since I have a large upper body. But my happiness lasted only until I noticed the black coloring on my cream leather seats
. First I thought it was just regular stains but soon I realized that it was from my new leather jacket. Both my e93 and my SUV have cream leather seats and both have very visible black dye all over from the jacket on the driver seat.I spent hours to clean it.I tried anything from leatrique to alcohol but I was only able to remove only portion of it. Most of it is still there and looks very ugly. Especially arm rests look horrible. Is there anything you can recommend to remove the dye that doesn't want to come off? Thanks in advance |

Same problem here. Beige interior + new black P-coat = dark stains on door armrest and seats. I actually had some luck using RESOLVE CARPET CLEANER, but you can still see the stains. Too cold to spend much time out there scrubbing lately.

Today, I took the risk of using "goof off". It gave the best result among more 20 different things I ried so far. It removed 90% percent from my SUV and 80% from e93. Although I can still see it but it is much ligther than before.
If you decide to use it make sure that you wipe it off with wet mf towel as soon as you are done with removing the stain since it is a strong chemical. Then don't forget to apply quality leather conditioner since goof off dries the leather. |

You could try using the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser, but go gentle and use it sparingly. The chemical in the eraser could potentially dry out the leather or effect the dye.

Dye Transfer
Is a common problem on lighter coloured leathers; once the dye has imbued it can be very difficult to remove, but this can be avoided by regular cleaning and the use of a protector. The transferred dye will ‘sit’ on top of the protection and can then be cleaned off by regular cleaning. If the dye has penetrated the finish then the finish has to be softened to release the dye (LM‘s Vital) Using a solvent on leather that has a stain or dye transfer will do two things; (a) Cause the dye to 'bleed' into the surface making it even more difficult to remove (b) Damage the finish requiring replacement. Dye transfer (from jeans, leather belts, etc) can be very difficult to remove; the longer it is on the leather the harder it will be to remove. Clothing dye normally shows as a greyish bloom in seat area. This is usually caused by dark dye transferring from clothing. Particularly avoid brand new (i.e. never been washed) denim jeans, damp knitwear etc (see Leather Master Strong Effect Cleaner (A-Aniline / Non-Coated) (P-Protected / Coated) (See also Leather Master Super Remover) |

I accidentally put paint on seats in an X5 so I used paint thinner. I put it on a white small towel and rubbed gently on the paint area. The paint of the leather will come off thats why you have to do it gently so it doesnt take too much leather paint off.
