Stock side mirrors removal on E92/93

I messaged a few members who did the M3 mirrors install already, but I wanna hear more opinions.

So far I've been told I have to remove the corner thing with the tweeter, but it's not cleat to me whather I have to remove the door cover from the inside in order to remove the tweeter.

Any feedback will be appreciated and I'll make a DIY with photos.

Thanks!

remove the tweeter, you will find two T30 TORX screws exposed. make sure you open the door. go towards the engine side of the door and pull back the rubber weather stripping carefully not to rip it and you will find the third screw. remove that and make sure you unclip the wiring harness so it doesnt get pulled on when you try to remove the mirror housing/base from the door. PLEASE PLEASE have someone help you hold the mirror if you can't hold it and remove the screws as this will drop off the door once all the screws are removed.

The removal of the tweeter is the problem, the rest is pretty much PNP. How can I remove the tweeter? Do I have to remove the door cover or there's an easier way without removing it?

Thanks!

Yes you have to remove the door panels to remove the tweeter. Here is the link to the DYI: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...ht=door+panels

A couple of tips:
1) There are four (4) screws behind the first trim piece
2) The passenger side door has a screw behind the handle bar trim which pops off
3) Its easier to remove the tweeter with the window down

Good luck and just be very careful.

I thought I posted that info on my thread? pull the top portion of the tweeter out and once the tab is out of the slot on the door you can slowly pull the tweeter/housing up.
