Is doing what you are suggesting legal? Either way, I know mark325 had an 'interesting' set up for his front plate. (basically just cut a sticker looking 100% like a plate). Not too sure if he is still active though, but might be worth shooting him a PM. IIRC, he's in QLD too.

there are a few exotics that get around either not running front plates or using stickers..
i heard a story from a lambo owner that a cop pulled him up for it once and he got away by asking the if he owned the car if he would drill holes in the front bar to attach a plate, the cop agreed he wouldnt either and let him go |

So it's not a personalised plate to begin with? If you already have personalised plates then it is only a nominal fee to get them reprinted. If you haven't got personalised plates, then why not?? Seriously though, if you don't have personalised plates I'm not sure there is a legal option for getting a slimline.

Technically it's illegal to use a fake number plate - just like if you made a fake drivers license or credit card. Even if all of the details are correct it's still a forgery and if not then it's fraudulent.
In QLD at least, it's even illegal to mark your number plate in any way. I've seen people get tickets for using Liquid Paper to repair areas of the plate where the white paint has come off or Nikko Pen to re-draw the numbers... Even saw one guy get told that he had to get new plates because the positioning of the screws holding it to the car had obscured the ability to clearly read the registration. Of course whether or not you get done for it depends on the individual cop and what sort of day he's had... - Harlequin |

The entire car was modified with only the dash and steering wheel remaining standard, it's an awesome and extremely capable car unfortunately i lacked the talent to drive it to its abilities I've sold that car now to someone who will campaign it in targa/dutton etc so its gone to a good home. I've got another lotus though which i'm about to start on - let the fun begin! If anyone is interested here's a link to some details on it - http://aussieelises.com/index.php?/t...inishedalmost/ Cheers |

Ive been pulled over a few times and the cops have checked to see if my plates have had the PPQ emblem on them. If they dont, they are entitled to fine you with some offence like not displaying a plate or incorrectly etc..
It seems its only traffic cops or those with a bit of know about it though. |

In NSW it's illegal, a $400 odd dollar fine and 3pts.
I even argued that the adhesive plate was clearer to read and still got the ticket
