First BMW 1M interior pictures, 7k redline, limited slip differential
Here are some more pictures of the 1-series M, including the first interior shots. This is still the prototype, so it's subject to changes, but so for we have M3 seats, M3 steering wheel and different gauges (not sure if the two-tone dials are here to stay). Fuel cutoff appears to be at 7,000 rpm. Contrary to some reports, you can also see a proper LSD.

Southlight, are you thinking that protrusion on the undercarriage might be the "proper LSD"? Does it appear the same on the e9x M3's?
Also.. would you happen to have high enough resolution to see the tire sizes? I'm guessing 245/35/19F and 275/30/19R fitment, from the looks of those Pilot Sport 2's... |

I noted that also.
If they chose to do a cosmetic quad, that'd be the most efficient way. Pretty sure that'd be the lightest option.

The "protrusion" is the cooling fin for the LSD. |

I knew that may be a diff cooling fin, like on the E36/4 M Coupe & Roadster, but was asking if it was the same on the E9x M3. Thanks though! Edit: I take it back, the fronts are clear 245/35/19.. I was thinking another area was the tire size, that I just couldn't make out. Rears appear to have smudges around XXX/35/ ZR19... Last edited by larryn; 07-09-2010 at 02:42 PM.. |

Pleasure!
That's an emergency switch off found in all prototypes. Quote:

I don't see a boost gauge on the instrument cluster. I was hoping to see that in a turbo ///M.

Agreed. Important for tracking a car IMHO.
