So I look online, see the show starts on the 14th. So my buddy, my wife, and I roll up. We start to a bit worried when none of the ticket booths are open. Sure enough, professionals only today! Disappointed that my wife couldn't work some magic. But it's all good, I'll get some pics tomorrow.

the 3 colors look gorgeous on the 1M, but I think... I can't decide lol, but Black hides the curves of the car so i guess i will go with the AWVO :P

Little things like that drive me crazy. I would get VO for that reason alone.

The white looks hot, but the orange is definitely way better...plus it's going to end up being the trademark color for it. I love the front bumper on this car...but still don't see the point of them building it. BMW is starting to water down the M brand

So can you tell us what you didn't like about VO in person? I've been pretty set on it, but would like to hear a dissenting opinion from somebody who has seen it in person. Did you like VO from the pictures or have you preferred AW all along and this just solidified your opinion? I love the way it looks in the pictures but I know they may have been adjusted plus the lighting conditions will change it. If it looks more washed out in person I may change color choices.

I happen to like AW here, and prefer it to VO and since I'm not a fan of SB, suppose this would be the color I'd take.

I wouldn't take it so personally.. technically no one has a 1m yet so not one should get offended..

Don't like it in AW.. looks kind of "off".. can't wait to see it in black though!

Buy a 135i and try to duplicate the same performance, you will find yourself spending about the same if not more doing it.

The M suspension with wider track and M diff is really what prompt me to order the 1M. Not to mention the larger wheel wells with 9" and 10" front and back right from the factory.

This looks like a really fun car to drive. Not the fastest car out there, but small and nimble. Anyone got the weight on this yet? Under 3400lbs? If so, good for BMW. Not my cup of tea as I like my GT-R, but I think it's going to be a great little sports car thats somewhat affordable. The only downside on price is it's still right there with a Corvette which will obviously dominate it (if people cross-shop the two).

You never option the moonroof when you can have the CF!

I encourage all you guys buying a 1M to go ORANGE.
You'll be turning heads.
+1

I lust after a 68-69 2002tii in Inca Orange and this baby will do the same thing for a new generation. I'll keep my hopes alive that I find one on ebay but this might have to do in the meantime; need a side by side test drive with a 135i to decide if it's worth the turbo plunge.

This is a great car. Man I love at AW but I'm starting to like the OV as well. Can't wait to see it in person.

I'm not a big fan of any of the three colors offered but I picked AW because I think it highlights the "M" bodywork features better. I did ask my dealer if I could special order a different BMW color through their "Exclusive" program like you can with other BMWs. If it's available and not too expensive, it would be nice having a really unique 1M. When I bought my 135 coupe, it was $2,500 but who knows now.

His negativity was directed at the 1 series in general. He said "1 is so ugly" and given where he posted it we SHOULD be offended.

I kindly disagree man. If you adjust for inflation, this is the most affordable M car ever built. When this project started the goal was to keep the price under $50,000.
I'm with you on this. My '99 M3 was ~41k when i bought it new. This thing is roughly the same size, with hugely improved performance in all aspects. I *loved* that e36, and this 1M is the closest I've seen to that size/weight from BMW since.

I'm going AW. Can't wait.

47k is a steal (for a M car that does 10 secs faster than a E46 M3 on the 'Ring), and this is a great color...would like to see it in black, to compare.

I like orange colors in general, and I've owned a couple of orange cars before.

I was 80% set to order it in VO, but honestly, I didn't like how it looked in the official pictures. It's not really orange or bright enough to my own taste, it's more like brownish orange if I may say!

In the other hand, it looked really lovely and stunning in the latest pictures from the NAIAS. It's exactly the orange I like, bright and strong, a bit flashy you can say.

So I was confused and I decided to wait until I see the color @ the NAIAS to make my final choice! And after I saw it in person yesterday, I decided to go with AW becuase it wasn't the orange I like!

Take a good look in the video and in the pictures in the following link to know what I'm trying to say: http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=474483

The color in person looks exactly like in the video. Not as orange or as bright as in the pictures!
