Intercooler upgraded to Wagner EVO3:

Currently I'm at about 390hp. Will be verified again on a dyno.

how do you like the hawk 5.0 ?

Got a f3x brake kit too, with those 5.0, not installed yet since can't decide the rotor...
And they are very expensive.

i want slotted rotor, but in the mean time, I like to keep it stock look...

(I also have a 335 E91 making 525whp)

525whp. Wow. N54?
Hawk HPS5.0 are great. Low dust, no squeel, performs very well on the street and occasionally on track if you'd like to.

yes. Swap tho, we didn't get the E91 335 in north america

I did 604whp once, but sketchy since my fuel pressure was at the bottom of the safe side.

I mainly looking to avoid brake fade, I did night time mexico pulls last summer against rs3, porsches and some tuned cars, and I've experienced 3 times brake fade with OEM 335 brake setup.
This is scary af when you need to stop

planning to go 2 pieces , high carbon, plain disk.

Intercooler is massive! I went with the Wagner Evo 1, their smallest stepped IC, whatever they name it. I just didn't want to have to do any major cutting and I figure aiming for 400whp-ish, give or take, it would be enough. They make a nice IC though, and I like that it's black - also over here across the pond, my N54 swapped E91 is debadged and with the black IC, even more subtle that it's not a 328.

I'm about the pull the trigger on F3X brake conversion. Probably going to go with the X-style Brembo calipers new, 370mm Pagid 2-piece front for F3X and 345mm Pagid 2-piece rear for E60, rear eccentric caliper bushings and I may just stick with the PFC Z-rated pad compound, which is what I currently have on it. I gather you can run the F3X 345mm rear rotors but have to run a 5mm rotor spacer and I don't know if I want to change wheel offset at all, that's the last thing I have to figure out before deciding between F3X or E60 rear rotors.

Plan is to do the swap and a good bleed and see what it feels like. I've seen arguments for the M3 master cylinder and also that it's not needed, and I'd rather not do that if I don't have to. Not that it's difficult, it's not, it's just one more thing and I'd rather not have to fiddle with it.

About the EVO1. Sad to say it, but it was tested by the well known dutch BMW tuner Mosselman over here and they sold me that the EVO1 was not a good performing IC. So, only the EVO2 or 3 are proper upgrades.
I've chosen for the EVO3 to be prepared for a hybrid turbo (about 500hp crank) in the future. The EVO2 would've been a bit too small according to Mosselman and other tuners.

Interesting. What's a good or ideal delta in IATs after say a 3rd gear pull from 2500rpm to 7000rpm? I have some data logs so I can check, see how bad it is.

Edit:
For what it's worth, my average delta in IAT for 3rd gear pulls with about 10 good runs of data available is +20F, ranging from 14 to 27, excluding the high and low outliers. This is across 2-3 pulls at Stg 1, Stg 2, Stg 1+ and Stg 2+ each, with the highest individual increase seen with 2+, which isn't surprising.

I'll need to see what it does with higher ambient temps - this was in fairly mild, cool weather here in the mid Atlantic US. And what it does with more steady running, if I can manage to track that.

the moment you dont have crazy hp goals, and have an good aftermarket IC, the T° might be not as important than the pressure drop.

old rule of thumbs is around 1-1.5% HP ''gain'' on each 10°C drop.
