You can tell if its a fake by just listening to the ticks inside, you shouldnt hear anything if its real. And by the weight, real ones are alot heavier than the fake.

That's not true at all. You can hear ticking noises in a real one, it' s not very loud except when you fall asleep with yoru head on your arm, but there is a tick-a-tick-a-tick-a sound from all of my Rolexes. And I know they are all real

New counterfeits are much closer in movement, weight, and sound, but they are still only "ticking" at around 3-4 times per second. Although some of you are busting up Express, he is right, with a loupe a "GOOD" jeweler can definitely tell! The way to make sure you are at a "GOOD" jeweler is to only take your "real" Rolex to a Rolex dealer.

Read my post about a supposedly "good" jewler (certified Rolex dealer) who thought my vintage Rolex was a fake. If you know you're buying a fake, well, good for you, but you will always know. IF you want a real one you just about have to buy from a reputable Rolex dealer. |

Heres a crappy pic. Looks like an old Air King (or Timex) because its so plain, but it's an Oyster. The band is very light, unlike my new ones, which is probably why he thought it was fake, but it's the original band that they put on them

WOW and still worth a few thousand dollars! I love it! Very classy and elegant, I would hang onto that one!

Not to diss the OP, but now that I've thought about it because of this thread, I'd rather wear this one that looks like any ole Timex, and know that it's real, than I would to have a fake one that looks like an expensive new one, and know it's fake. That's just me though. |
