It's the city driving...

I decided to check one day what my car was using in the city - I nearly cried... It was 32L or something stupid

33.5km/h and 11.8l/100klms. just back from a 900klm round trip and improved fuel economy a bit. notice that driving in DS mode seems to use much more fuel but i guess this makes sense.

Funny thing. ever since i got my Mazda2 to drive to the city during the week, i've only been driving the beemer on weekends - therefore constant flowing traffic. consumption's gone down from 11.2 to 11.0 even with the larger 19" wheels. i'm quite happy with that.

After double check my average speed, mine is 20km/h , not 40-50km/h.

so is this make sense? with 20 liter /100kms ?

That makes sense.

Ive also noticed that after an oil change my fuel consumption goes up by 50kms per tank. Might be that it takes a while for the oil to seal and Im replacing it too early. Its synthetic BMW oil and I always thought it was good to change about every 5-10k
