i cant lie, i wasn't crazy about it when i got it. it felt too dark to me for some reason but i get compliments on the color all the time now. on overcast days it still feels muted to me but on the sunny ones I love the color with the sun shining on it.
i still might consider wrapping it in vinyl but I really do like it a lot more now than I did before. |

Most of your images do not reflect the true color of this car given the high levels of HDR that you use...makes the car look cartoonish/too reflective. The true color of the car is beautiful, and it's a color that wears many hats: when the sun shines straight on it, those flakes make the car light up. During a dark day or night time the car looks almost black. During an overcast day but still enough daylight there is a somewhat purple haze to it. It's simply an amazing color, on which carbon fiber highlights look great!

Let me rephrase: edited photos, whatever effects/changes are used. Personally it doesn't bother me if it's your preference to enhance your images, but I can make a quick search and point you to many images you have posted where the levels of reflection are so high it's even difficult to distinguish the actual color of the car.
Go back to your build thread and scroll down to picture #10 (start at 7/3/10)...there a few shots back to back that look nothing like the pictures at the start of the thread, which illustrate the true color of the car. |

The point I was trying to get across was that many of his pictures are a misrepresentation of the true color of the car. I own a similarly colored car...I should know. |

it just isn't carrying the effects you see as color altering. and why the 'tude about my photos? These are unedited photos shot from my phone. my point for posting the "high processed" ones are they represent the true color also but with different highlighted areas. yes some of them end up with more of a 'wet' looking paint but under high sunlight or really bright lights, thats the color you see. the color isn't misrepresented at all, it just might be not how you are used to seeing it. I shot this last night - its unusable because I was out of focus but look closely at the highlighted areas of the paint, not too far off from any other photos i've done and this image is straight out of the camera, resized and watermarked... thats it. The "smartass" comment was targeted towards Mr. I-Make-Irrelevant-Comments by pointing out that one of your images had a blue car in it. Regardless, DSB is a great color in my eyes. |

Haha ok man, just wasn't sure. Interwebz comments are notorious for having no tone or emotion in them so sometimes it's hard to judge.

Anthracite would be darker. I'm actually painting um charcoal next week. It's just the lighting, though gunmetal sounds darker that it really is.

Also, if you go to the thread I created for the shoot, you will see plenty of images, different distances from the plane, poses, etc. We had two professional outstanding photographers on site. |

yeah, not trying to knock it but its just such a great opportunity to shoot like that and you have the car right under the the plane... I would have just shot that a little different personally. Its not that you can't see the plane, its that there is really no depth to the picture.

This guy's abilities in the photography arena are amazing, so 1 person not liking a photo is not going to hurt anyone's feelings lol....also, this same image happens to be many people's favorite out of all the ones I posted. It goes on to show you it's a matter of taste EDIT: After re-reading what you said, maybe you've never been next to a P3 Orion, but we were not under the nose or too close for this picture, this plane is huge!
