2011 E90 328i M-Sport LMB Build Thread

Origin Story

Well, I did it again. I bought an E9x I shouldn't have from FBM.

Photos will come eventually but lets start off with the car:
  • Le Mans Blue
  • Slicktop
  • M-Sport
  • Manual seats
  • Single Hump
  • Comfort Access
  • Replaced motor
  • Best of all, its an auto!

All for $2,700.

Unfortunately it also came with a damaged drivers' side dog leg, a Montego Blue rear driver side door, and a salvage title.

Build Plans

Luckily, I am planning out a track car build to replace my current E46 330ci ZHP, so the cosmetic issues aren't a concern for me (yet). Mechanically, the car seems to be relatively sound, needing just an oil pan gasket, an O Ring for one of the hoses, and front control arms to be peachy as a daily. The PO had bootleg ass Amazon special water pump/thermostat combo installed so I'm mildly weary, but it isn't worth it to replace that yet.

I found a guy locally that was selling very lightly used JRZ RS Twos and also had M3 front control arms (BW Sphericals on the Tension Struts!) for a very nice price so I have those as the first steps.

Here's what else I'm planning to do to the car:
  • Solid subframe bushings
  • Fully spherical rear end using 3147100005 ball joints, SPL bits
  • Godspeed Rear Arm kit
  • SLG Eccentric Lockout Kit
  • 8HP45 swap from E84 X1
  • E60 finned diff cover
  • Drexler LSD transferred over from my E46
  • CSF Radiator
  • N54 OFH + 15/10 row Koyorad Oil Coolers + RallyRoad thermostat
  • F3x 335i front brakes + E9x 335i rear brakes
  • CYL Motors 1.75" Stepped headers
  • "M50" style intake manifold
  • "Desmond Regamaster" 17x9.5 ET35 + 255/40/R17 Kumho V730s from my E46
  • Motorsport Hardware studs
  • Custom gauge faces to swap fuel economy gauge for oil temp gauge
  • E84 Electric Power Steering Rack

I'm still debating whether or not to strip the rear portion of the car. I'm definitely keeping AC though!
