I’m reluctantly listing my 1er to (part) finance the purchase of an E39 M5. Bucket list car for me, so literally the only reason I’m listing this one. I seriously love this car to bits and yes, I’m aware I’ll likely never find another one in this, my favorite, color combination and condition.

The car really needs nothing at this point and the engine compartment and under the car are bone dry – no leaks. No rust anywhere. Lifetime PNW car, I’m the 4th owner with the previous owner having owned the car for 2 years before selling to me in July 2021.

The Vitals
  • MY 2013 with a 10/Aug production date
  • 91,277 miles (not a garage queen, but not an everyday driver, so this will increase a bit)
  • VIN # WBAUP9C52DVF46817
  • Le Mans Blue over Oyster Boston leather
  • 6 speed manual
  • N51*
  • Anthracite Fine Wood trim
  • M bits
    • M Sports Package
    • M Sports Suspension
    • M Leather Steering Wheel
    • M Aerodynamics Package
    • M Performance Exhaust
  • Xenons
  • Comfort Access
  • Sunroof
  • iDrive
  • Harman/Kardon sound (and trouble free hands-free Bluetooth)
*: Several years and many, many miles left on the SULEV warranty.

The Extras
  • Double adjustable TC Klines in front (full kit at purchase; some previous owner stripped the bottom threads on the driver’s side rear damper, so I replaced those)
  • Front
    • TC Kline “0700 60 0350” springs; 7” tall, 350 lbs
    • Koni dampers
  • Rear
    • TC Kline “0500 250 1000” springs; 10”, 500 lbs
    • Koni 8242 1016SPTC2 dampers
    • PowerFlex upper shock mounts
  • Raceland adjustable front sway bar end links
  • Billet aluminum cooling “Mickey Mouse” flange (FCP)
  • StopTech SS brake lines (front, rear out – intermediate rear lines will come with car)
  • Rogue Engineering transmission mounts
  • Pilot Sport AS4 225/45R17s all around (square) – mounted at 73,882 miles in August 2021
  • Wheel spacers – Acumste 15 mm front, Turner 15 mm rear
  • Clutch stop
  • CDV delete
  • Üroparts oil filter cap
  • Black grille inserts
  • Warning triangle, OE with OE brackets
  • ProClip phone mount
  • BMW Performance Pedal Covers (clutch, brake, gas)
  • Tint all around except windscreen
  • Weather Tech mats front and rear
  • Not fitted, will come with car
    • Whiteline KDT917 rear subframe bushings
    • Steering wheel cowl w/ storage ("oddments tray")
    • Euro headlight switch w/rear fog button (6932796)
    • StopTech stainless rear intermediate brake lines
    • BMW Performance pedals foot rest

Service history is attached in photos (I have paper copies of most of it) as is both the CARFAX report and the printout I had to make from the site to list all of the maintenance I’ve done.

The CARFAX lists “minor damage” in August 2017 to the rear, but I honestly can’t tell anything amiss. The driver’s side front fender was PDR’d and repainted in November last year to get rid of some weird dents along the top; it looked like someone dropped something kind of round-ish on it, was only on the very top of the fender, and didn’t break the paint, but bothered the h*** out of me. There are scrapes along the bottom of the front bumper from previous owners.

Update: More pictures (underside, tires, maintenance records) are available too.

Happy to take more pictures, just let me know what you’d like to see.

- peter

Thanks, and no, I'm not sure (and I'll have seller's remorse for years to come, I'm sure), but the E39 M5 has been a bucket list item for me more or less since it came out. I remember the first time I saw one, where that was, etc. and that just cemented its place right there. When I found out an acquaintance of mine was open to selling his, then that it has records all the way back, actually drove it for more than a test drive, that the price is within the MoF approved budget ...

PPI came back with a long list and scary numbers, but most of that is labor, all of which I can do myself — will probably elect to have a shop do the RMS (weeping, not urgent), though — and all the parts are priced from BMW, so 35% more than FCP Euro. Nothing is really scary and the interior is in excellent condition, so this is the opportunity.

Honestly think I'll keep it for 2-3 years, then be ready for the next experience. Something really small and light, maybe something mid-engined, ... We'll see when that time comes, but in any case I need to get past the keep-it-forever mentality for my daily/fun car and with our parking situation and MoF's one out, one in rule, this is the only way to do that.

And I'll probably not disappear entirely from here in any case. I'm not ruling out another 1er in my future by any means. They're just too good to ignore.

Gotta ask why the 116d badges? I'm looking for a replacement for my '13 128 Msport in Lemans Blue that got collected by a inattentive driver.

I was in Europe near a dealership and the badge wasn't expensive

It would've come off by now if I were to keep the car. The joke has run its course with the best moment being the confusion it caused at Porsche Bellevue when they valued it for a trade-in on a Boxster last year (I wasn't serious, but thought "why not"). "We didn't know those came as diesels." Some valuation process...

Sorry to hear about yours.

Want to try to make sure it goes to a good home first, plus I haven't had time.

Still available, now with lower price.

I'm back in the country with the car, so I can provide more pictures etc. on demand. Weather right now isn't ... let's say "amenable" to a full detail and photo shoot.

At $13500 I'm tempted to pick it up as a spare.
