E91 LCI 325i That does not have the 3.0l engine!

Hi all,

Hoping someone can shed some light on this Japan e91 LCI 325i produced in Jul 2009. RealOEM lists it as "3' E91 LCI BMW 325i. Type Code: UT92" with the N52B25A engine.

Its got me baffled since all the LCI cars are supposed to be the 3.0 variant not the 2.5.

Im trying to workout what if the performance specs should be PRE LCI or POST?

https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/select?vin=A539098

Cheers in advance

the LCI 325 in western europe got N53 engine which was 3.0
but ROW countries continiue to get N52B25 engine due the reason that their petrol quality is worse then westen european.
but N52B25 oil problem was resolved in 2010 engines

Ah the sulphur content right?

So is it safe to say the LCI versions in ROW countries did not have the same performance and economy as that of Euro versions. I specifically want the N52 to avoid the injector issues of the N53.

Thank you for your reply. Really appreciate it.

if you acquire japan 325 LCI you will get N52, but if you want reliable N52, same as 3.0, you have to upgrade compression rings to the fixed version, or get 2010 MY 325 LCI from japan, which already have this fix

That's super interesting! Thank you.

Is there anyway for me to check which compressions ring setup is currently installed using the realoem website?

Ive had a good look but completely failed to find in which revision the compression rings were fixed. Looks like the rings have not changed since 2007.

So annoying, I found this 07/2009 325i with full BMW history 33K miles and oil change every 4K, very well maintained.... but never knew anything about these piston rings.

Thank you for your help ptpending.

i believe that with a such mileage its not eating oil yet, so if you'll make preventive piston ring update, you'll get a nice car anyway
