Does anyone know where the reverse camera module is located? I’ve had the rear side panels removed and also taken out the carpet in back but nothing. Also checked under the passenger footwell up front.

There's no specific reverse camera module. It uses the REM, rear electronics module, located in the right side of the trunk.

I just retrofitted a reverse camera to my 2014 F34.

I can't for the life of me see a way of routing the cable from the tailgate into the cabin.
At the moment it is looped so not a great position but at least the camera works.

I can't find instructions for removing the trims and accessing the cars loom to get the cable through.
How do you get those funky instruction leaflets?

I installed one of these, with the camera mounted on the hatch right next to the OEM camera.

I ran the cable under the various trim pieces all the way to the rear view mirror that it attached to. There's no funky instruction leaflets, you have to figure it out, but it can be done.

Not true. Pre LCI models have TRSVC/reversing camera module is in the driver footwell. The FEM is in the passenger footwell (assuming LHD). I do believe LCI models eventually transitioned to ICAM style, which eliminates the need for a module and the camera feeds directly into the HU.

Depends what you're using. I've fitted camera emulator boxes which just required me to code the HU and the REM but if you're fitting the genuine BMW reverse camera hardware (pre-LCI) then you'll have the TRSVC module which also needs coding.

With an emulator there's no TRSVC to worry about and with an LCI car there is no separate module so it's ICAM instead of TRSVC.

As the retrofit guide linked above mentions, if the car is pre-LCI and it came with reverse camera from factory or has had the genuine BMW retrofit then the TRSVC module is located under the trim in the driver's footwell - there are different mounting brackets for LHD and RHD cars, so it will be on your driver's side regardless. Not the best picture and my car is RHD but you can see the silver module at an angle above the foam padding:

Based on your above comment it seems you installed an aftermarket camera? So that would explain why.

No, this was with my OEM camera. Among the things I coded, all in REM, were:

REM 3203 V_SCHWELLE_2 werte = FF (default werte = 0F) The speed when it auto disables rear camera view (FF = 255 km/h)

REM 3203 D_SCHWELLE_2 werte = FF werte = 00 The distance when it auto disables rear camera view (default FF = 255 meters)

I have no idea what you installed, but even realOEM indicates a control module for a backup camera on a ‘15 F34.

It’s possible you installed an ICAM and also coded HU, though.

I didn't install anything. The camera came with the car. All I did was to code various options, all in REM. There were no other options.

On the contrary, my 2017 LCI F34 has the rear camera module installed from the factory. Car is North American spec.
