Review: Sutphin Custom Transmission Tune

Hey all,

I got a transmission tune from Rod Sutphin a few months ago, and it has been a great experience. The process was very simple (way easier than a DME tune) and it just overall makes the car more enjoyable to drive. Everyone's final product will be different since it's tailored to the individual. But this covers a few of the changes that I appreciate the most.

quick question about this upgrade... i'm guessing that if you're doing a custom trans tune with sutphin, you only need to purchase the XHP flash license and not the map pack?

This is correct. When we installed our hp70 awd kit for Eddie he just had to grab the license and the custom tune file.

glad you enjoy it. it's crazy he's been doing this for a while but a lot of people just didn't know, so I'm glad we're getting the word out.

Thinking about doing this myself. I'm currently on the xHP Stage 2 tune with some of my own customizations. Do you think it would be that much of a jump to justify the price? Also, did he just send you a one and done file, or is it like an ECU tune where there are tweaks and revisions here and there?

A) Yes it worth the jump in price for any turbo setup too.

B) Yes he does send you a one and done file. There are no tweaks/revisions to be made unless you specifically ask for it after the adjustment period. I got the rev46 for racing

I also got the xHP Tune by Rod Sutphin for my stock “mppk” N55 with the HP50. Very easy to work with and amazing support.

I went through the adjustment period yesterday night at around 3am did around 35km normal driving… then tested highway ramp WOTs .. and it’s completely a different car.

Very happy with the tune and will most likely do a separate review after a few weeks.

Thanks for the video recommendation Kern 👍
