You sure that second log is OEM? I see you hit 19.3 PSI on the stock turbo. |

Data Log MHD Stage 2 E30
Could someone look at this data log I did Saturday night? Seemed to me that there was a bit of a drop in rail pressure near the top end, but I don't know if its enough to be concerning. Also slight timing corrections, but once again not sure if they are very substantial. I don't know too much of what I'm looking at but want to make sure everything is fine since I'm about to put in a TU pump. Thanks

Interesting. Why doesn't the high timing cause issues here since it's high load? What reading or learning should I look into to realize the differences here? After some reading, I believe the answer to this is due to the lower pressure in the cylinder we need more timing. Last edited by vektorprime; 09-28-2021 at 07:00 PM.. |

How much timing you can run is a dependent on of a lot of things including octane, combustion temperature, boost levels, etc. Usually it's a sensitivie balance, because boost that's too high will create extra heat and reduce how much timing you can add (unless you have more octane to compensate for it). Ultimately the stock tune's boost levels are so low that high timing can be achieved.

a smaller turbo wil put more heat into the air for the same amount of air at a certain pressure , compared to a bigger one . thats why increasing the boost beyond a point where iats skyrocket is useless . You need to upgrade your turbo .

Hi Kevin and all,
I'm seeing corrections on cy2 as high as -5. Is this due to the lower LTFT (.94)? Sometimes, shortly after powering up, I would feel the car slightly shake (like it's trying to clear its throat) and trying to cut power on ~75% throttle. And when I get on the highway to do WOT, it disappears again. https://www.bootmod3.net/log?id=6158...90c67cf114c3d6 |

I'm wanting some feedback on these two logs. I'm still not following how to make sense of these too well. I see a lot of corrections as I have been since I've been logging (can't seem to find a correction free gas here in central IL - even adding 1 to 1 1/2 gallons of e85 to top off a full tank). I'm wanting a tune that I can trust and I'm not sure which one of these I can stick with long term.
MHD stage 1 91 octane map https://datazap.me/u/kevmk81/log-163...a=27&zoom=0-56 MHD stage 2 91 octane map https://datazap.me/u/kevmk81/log-163...4&zoom=199-250 One thing that happened on the stage 2 map that makes me a little nervous - after the run - I smelled what seemed to be a burning electronics stench. No codes according to MHD. When I arrived home - I popped the hood and figured out that it's the sensor that is plugged into the charge pipe - the smell was pretty strong. I believe it's the charge-air pressure sensor. Again - no codes thrown or anything. I guess I should probably replace that sensor? I'm not very keen on how those wear. That smell has always told me of electrical equipment burn. ETA: the sensor could have been the IAT sensor. hmmm. or maybe the boost pressure sensor? i'll take a pic and upload ETA x 2: it's definitely the MAP sensor that smells like burnt electronics ETA x 3: ok removed the MAP sensor - that doesn't stink like burnt electronics. I do believe the smell is coming from the valvetronic actuator :-|. What are the signs of those going bad? I see those aren't cheap. Last edited by kevmk81; 10-05-2021 at 05:17 PM.. |

I drove the car today and it seems to be ok. No odd noises, no CEL's. The smell is starting to go away. I wonder if there is a way to test the eccentric shaft as well as the valvetronic motor to determine if they are working properly or about to fail. Driving around it seems to be working properly but I'd like to know if the part(s) are going bad.

Log Review
Was hoping for a little more power on the dyno with the VTT GC ... made 508 WHP / ~ 550 TQ on Pump 93 with WMI on a Cary Jordan custom tune. We ran about 25 PSI but only got up to 11.5 degrees of timing - thoughts on the log and dyno chart????

Running MHD stage 2 HPFP 102RON After speaking to MHD they said i can run the 102 ron map with meth. I gave it a go and the logs are below. Im not the best with logs. How do they look to you guys? Also do you think id have further gains if i got a custom meth+pump map? 4th gear meth: https://datazap.me/u/khalid1770/102-...og=0&data=3-20 5th gear meth https://datazap.me/u/khalid1770/102-...g=0&data=3-20/ Last edited by Kay177; 10-11-2021 at 12:53 PM.. |

Hi
What is that 1048576 torque limiter. I get a bunch in this log. Is it because of these torque limit settings? I feel the car is being hold back... 0-100 in 4.1sec RWD M135i https://datazap.me/u/harkes/0-100-la...15-30-34-35-36

Any feedback on the newer MHD Stg 2+ 93oct map?
Thoughts on performance differences between MHD Stg 2+ 95oct / E40 maps?

No right or wrong, your stressing your turbo a bit more, but going faster as a result. Pay to play and all that! |
