Not mine but an absolute hero swapped an F80 in to an F31. With a stick.

Awesome build.

I’d be far more interested to see the story of the drivetrain than whatever that wrap is!

Swapped a F80 into a F31 328 Xi

The wrap mimics what BMW has on the test mule G81, people tag bmw and bmw na on social media asking to bring the G81 here.

Awesome! Great looking car. I have the same car (328d) here in New York metro area. I really like the subtle mods you did. Also, I miss Taiwan Wish I can go back and visit soon..

he put the “prototype” wrap on when BMW announced they weren’t bringing the new m wagon toUS. For April fools he was out driving it around.

Was pretty funny

But he is pissing in the wind. They aren’t bringing it because it won’t pass crash standards, and they’d have to redsign both the sedan and the wagon chassis to do so.
And that ain’t going to happen

I got 20% front windows and 15% rears. Was going to do 30/15 F/R but changed my mind at the last second. Happy with the look though.

I’ve searched around but never found any details on how the wagon failed the US crash test. Does anyone know? And how is the US crash test more strict than EU standards?
